blah, blah blah, (most of what disabled people already know) then the list of ideas which were pretty dumb and focused around things like art or computer repair. Really dumb ideas for most people. If you could actually do any or most of these jobs you'd probably be working and not on disability. What most people, who might be able to work a little bit, really need are decent paying work from home corporate jobs, part time, that are flexible. I worked from home for 20 years as an IT project manager. With technology most office work can be done remotely from home today. Some companies also have customer service agents that do work from home. The problem is most of Corporate America is not willing to accommodate a disabled persons less than full time effort or even support working from home. Some one like me might only be good in 4-5hrs at a stretch maybe 3 days a week and that would fluctuate depending on how well I was doing. The ideas in this book are not really viable either for most people. I think this book was a waste.
This isn't just a good book for someone who is disabled and would like to work, it is helpful to anyone who wants to work from home. I am retired and found good ideas for the home business I currently have.Chin Up! is a good read, and now I know even more ways I can make money from my home. Good stuff for less than the cost of a latte!
I read it on Kindle. The pages turned easily. Chapters have explanatory material then lists of resources. Chapters cover many areas of potential money making. The book provides insights into the practical workings of SSI and related programs.
This book is full of great information and written well.
It is a great book for anyone who may need to think about alternative ways to make money, which is what I read it for. While the information about dealing with some of the disability process wasn't relevant for me, I imagine it would be extremely relevant to a lot of people these days.
