Reading this book, explains some things left out of the canonized Biblical Books. There is also a running timetable. Towards the end, several things were clarified. The lamb was to be slaughtered, towards evening, on the 14th day, of the first month. Then the lamb's blood was used on the doorposts, and lintel, of the doorway, on the first third of the 15th. The new day began at sundown. Jesus, as the Lamb, was crucified on the 14th, then hurriedly taken down and placed in the garden tomb, before sundown, since the Passover day wouldn't have allowed any work to be performed. His blood became the blood on the doorposts, and lintel, as he was the door to eternal salvation. Just a side thought here, when the blood was placed on the lintel, it most likely dripped to the ground. Completing the head wrists and feet of Jesus.Most people accept that Jesus was crucified on a Friday and rose on a Sunday. I'm of the belief that he was crucified on the 14th, a Wednesday and placed in the tomb before sundown.Was in the tomb Thursday, Friday, and rose on Saturday, the third day, the Sabbath.Anyhow, this was an informative book, that gives an interesting account of the history of the Hebrews.

This is my second time purchasing the book of jubilees. I also plan on purchasing another one for someone else. This book does not stray away from sound biblical Doctrine, however it just adds to what we already know from the Bible by filling in the holes that were not explained in the Holy Bible.

This book opened my eyes to what the church is not telling us about missing books of the Bible and the truths to the Most Highs Sabbaths and Holy Days. Jubilees is based on multiples of seven to the Most High God. 49 years is a Jubilee. The Most High also made it easy with seven days, seven months, seven years and how these account for Sabbaths and Feast days that no one seems to want to follow. The original year is supposed to be 364 days and when that's divided by 7, we have 52 weeks. 5 and 2 is 7. It's that easy and He made it like that for all mankind to follow and prosper.I recently read an article where humans are depleting the soil of minerals when farming and how we are not getting enough essential minerals in our diets. Now the Most High told us to let soil rest every seven years so that it can naturally replenish its minerals. However, misguided and ignorant man has decided to do his own thing defying the laws of the Most High that were given to us for our own good.Leviticus 25:4King James Version (KJV)4 But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the Lord: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

Gives new insight into the Scriptures, though it was hard for me to follow sometimes, because everything is done in Jubilees time of 7 years and 49 years, but very detailed in the information that was presented. Every time I read a book that was left out of the Scriptures, it makes me wonder why was it left out. I have not found any of these books to detract from the Scriptures, but they only enhance the understanding of the Scriptures with more details about what GOD was trying to tell us, and prepare us for. Remember that the Scriptures were written for us but not to us, so these books help by giving us information that will help us to understand.

I found this book extremely interesting and informative. Like the Books of Enoch, while this book was never canonized into Western Bibles, it is a part of the Ethopic Bible, which has 81 books, instead of the 66 boobks of the Western Chritian Bible or the 72 books of the Catholic Bible. The Book of Jublies refers to time as measured from the 1st day of Creation, and it gives a lot more detail behind many characters from the Torah (1st 5 books of the Tanakh). It is very interesting to say the least, and a must read for serious theologians!

This is a good book; a translation. Historically, the Book of Jubilees was claimed to have been revealed to Moses but some claim that the book was simply a copy of the original Books of Genesis as found in the common Bible. Some label ancient books with similar stories as pseudepigrapha, material not suitable for inclusion in religious books.The Books of Jubilees, details the celebration of every Jubilee (49 years) since creation to Moses's adult life; about 2410 years. There is a lot of detail in The Book of Jubilees and I wonder how the ancient authors could have had such access to personal lives of those times. Its a good read for those interested in ancient history.

This book has been an amazingly eye opening completion to many missing parts of stories in Genesis. The book of Jasher is necessary to read as well in order to gain a fuller understanding. No wonder it's been hidden away from the rest of the Bible. I suggest anyone seeking a more complete understanding of the beginning of YAHUAH's Word read this book!

There are some typographical errors, but if you can over look this, it is a very informative read. I first read this book as a teenager because it was in my grandfather's library. He was a theologian, as was my father.

Worth buying the updated edition because some of the treatment sections have been expanded to include more modern protocols. Also should mention to buy the paper version b/c it comes with a code for a digital copy. I would give this book a fifth star if it had a brief section that explained the mechanism of all of the conditions discussion. In order words, a brief "why" conditions present like they do. This is a personal opinion, though.

My last Wills manual was 2 editions ago. This one has similar clear organization, content, and layout except for 2 noticeable differences: the font size is smaller and the index is terrible. It's easier to use the table of contents to navigate rather than the index because so many listings are missing from the index. Sometimes in a hurry I'll just reach for my 2-editions-ago manual because at least I'll be guaranteed to find what I'm looking for quickly.

So far I am enjoying this edition and the multimedia/videos on different procedures is a welcome addition. My only concern is there appears to have been an oversight placing optic neuropathies in the index. I was only able to find this section by referring to chapter 2, which directs you to the correct chapter. Optic neuritis, AION/GCA, NAION, and misc optic neuropathies are not listed in the index... unfortunate for a heavily referred-to section. I simply wrote it into the index to get around this, although it feels wrong to write in a brand new book!

Still a great book after all these years. To the point and current treatments. Good for office or Board prep. The book is getting a bit thicker so the Kindle edition is perfect. Easily searchable and font can be made larger too.

The Bible of ophthalmology residents. It sets the standard of care for all ophthalmologists and is a quick and easy reference. I've had a current copy on my desk since I finished my training many years ago.

VERY LITTLE difference from edition 5. And the online content can be seen online in by someone doing the procedure. But if you need to lend this out to a medical student or resident on call it is still a good resource.

Very good reference for Ocular Disease. Keeping this with me during rotations.

Great book; I was just upset when I opened the package and the book was damaged. There was a huge cut in the front cover that went to about half way in the book into the pages. Not sure how that happened and how it was still sent to me even though it was damaged. If it wasn't for the damage, I would have gave it 5/5 stars.

I think I will pass along this book about the Southern Pacific Railroad in eastern Texas to a friend who will find this book morefascinating than I did. I should have known it was not exactly my "cup of tea"!

David Bernstein has self-published other highly regarded titles on the Southern Pacific in Texas and Louisiana, but this is his first in Arcadia Publishing's "Images of Rail" series, and it is a terrific work! Mr. Bernstein, who now works for BNSF Ry. in Fort Worth, spent 15 years with the SP, working as a clerk, train order and interlocking operator, and finally chief train dispatcher. That experience is evident in the clear, precise and detailed captions to the more than 200 photographs included in the book, as well as in the selection of the images themselves. The focus of the book is on the Houston and Dallas divisions [the Southern Pacific east of a line from Houston to Dallas] and the Houston Terminal, or "The Hub," from the end of WWII until SP's absorption by Union Pacific in 1996. In addition to the black and white photographs, which are all reproduced very clearly, there are helpful maps of the eastern half of Texas, Houston, the Houston terminals, Dallas and Beaumont, and also a diagram and track plan of Houston's 1934 Grand Central Station. The book begins with a one page Introduction that gives a brief, but precise and clear description of the SP's corporate history in Texas, followed by a one page Time Line, and tables showing the make-up of the Houston and Dallas Divisions in 1946, and listing the discontinuance dates of selected passenger trains. Included are photos of many passenger trains that served this area, including the "Sunbeam," "Hustler," "Sunset Limited," "Alamo," No.s 25 and 26 at various dates, powered by steam and beautiful PA's and even a rare shot of the "Owl." There is even a photo of SP's last passenger train to Galveston, shown at the Pasadena depot, and of Austin Steam Train's No. 786 under steam at Houston. All of the important towers, junctions and yards in the divisions are depicted, often showing the same location at different dates. Several pages record the Houston passenger terminal, Hardy Street and Englewood as they were developed and changed. These include striking aerials of the Hardy Street Shops and of Englewood, with downtown Houston in the background, as well as one of Beaumont from the 1950's. Every photo is credited and each caption contains precise detail on the date of the picture, the identity of the train, person, or structure shown and often gives historical background on the location itself. This may not be a full-color large format coffee table book, but it is definitely what one could call a "milk and cookies" read that will be hard to put down. But millions upon millions of people have gone through it, and have gone before us, and we also will die.I know there's the possibility the cancer could return. I've been blessed with almost three years now cancer free, and I have lived this time more than ever before. I count the blessings, the wonderful things that have happened especially in the past two years. And oddly, were it not for the cancer, these things, these blessings, would never have happened.But yet I have prepared for the possibility. I have thought about how I would respond to a recurrence of cancer, what I would want done, etc. I won't be taken by surprise because I allowed myself to think about it, and even to talk about it. I have expressed my wishes to my husband, so they are respected. I see nothing morbid in this conversation; rather there is a sacredness to it.My spiritual studies have brought me to a place of stillness, that the afterlife will be one of utter peace and connection with those I have loved here, and being with God in a way so beyond what we can comprehend here. So there is nothing to fear. And really, if we are separated by death, it's only for a short time. Our lives here are as a puff of a breeze, they go that quickly.So when I hear of conflict, I think what a waste of the short time we have here. I really want nothing to do with conflict. It is a waste of precious breath. And it's also a waste of time to spend so much time fearing death, rather than coming to peace with it, so that you can truly live.I came across a beautiful youtube video "The End of Suffering" with Thich Nhat Hanh, and didn't realize it was from a book/CD compilation that had other authors speaking and beautiful music also. It's called "Graceful Passages - a companion for living and dying". May it bring as much peace to you as it has to me. One CD has various people talking over the music, and the other CD is simply the music. I went to sleep peacefully last night listening to the music and itâ€™s a comfort to have friendly voices speaking such peaceful words.

I have had my Graceful Passages "companion" for many years and have given this set many times. I cannot imagine why I waited so long to do a review.I was just researching a book on grief and dying and someone had commented that they didn't care for the book and felt Graceful Passages was the best resource available for dealing with death.I agree wholeheartedly.There is something unworldly wonderful about Graceful Passages that speaks to people of all walks of life and all faith backgrounds. It fully breaks open the heart, especially the broken heart, and facilitates hope and healing. The music provides profound comfort and peace.I no longer try to figure out why these CDs are so powerful; I am just grateful that they are available.I generally listen to the music only CD and let it speak to my heart. However, I've listened to the spoken CD enough that I can "hear" the heart of the message givers even when listening to music only.I have given it more times than I like to remember and each and every recipient has said it has helped them immensely.I also use this CD during massage and meditation and frequently fall asleep to it. Both of my massage therapists, on hearing my copy, have gone out and bought their own to use in their practice and to give to others. It is transformational message and music.I keep extras in my home to share and always send this to friends dealing with pain and loss.

oh yes, here is another book, unfortunately, I have bought by the dozens! The reason I say unfortunately is just that I have had too many friends pass away in the past five years. A friend gave me my first copy to help me grieve for the loss of my dear business partner. Since then I have given many copies to friends, healthy and loving friends and those who are at the end of life and those who are dealing with this loss. This book, with it's CD of beautiful music, poetry and spirit... along with the loving pages inside the book are something I hope everyone can use when they are around people who are passing from our world into the next.

This book has been heartbalm for my journey in grief. I love the various thoughts on dying and death. I love even more the two CD's, one with the thoughts being read with music in the background, the other being just the music. I have shared this book with many friends and colleagues. Easily makes my list of favorite books I will keep for the rest of my life.

These puzzles are a little more difficult than I expected right from the first one. They start out as moderate and get more difficult as you proceed through the book, For me that is just what I like, but for a beginner they would be too difficult. The paper is good quality so that it does not tear when you erase notes, and there is plenty of room for your notes in the squares.

Love the large print and quality paper. HOWEVER, the spiral is covered by the front and back covers connecting over it. This means that if you fold the pages you have already done back, the book does not lie perfectly flat. I fixed that by cutting the covering up the center and trimming both edges to within 1/8" of the spiral spine.

This is a wonderful selection of puzzles in a large format. I purchased this book for my mother who is legally blind with macular degeneration. This book and others in it's series are the perfect size and boldness for her to make out. Wonderful!

My eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be - with Patrick Blindauer's Large Print Sudoku series, I can continue with my favorite relaxation activity.

A little hard to hold onto, but love this large print version. I can see the puzzles so much better.

I've gotten two of these series and gifted my sister-in-law with a third. They're great for traveling in that they can fill the time one has to kill without requiring internet access or headphones. Plus, they offer intellectual stimulation that one doesn't get as a passive video viewer.The large print is handy for those of us who often require eyeglasses to comfortably read. Adult entertainment.

I have a problem with the small puzzle books but this is great, I don't need special glasses. They are hard to solve and I love it. I save the easy ones for my neighbors. If this were me, the story would have ended at the interview. I would have gotten up and walked out, job be damned. Jasmine should have known then something underhanded was going on. My personal business is just that, my personal business. At least Jasmine had the sense to make Chase grovel behind her. If he wanted her he'd have to earn her. Chase never had to court or chase a woman before and her was intrigued by Jasmine. She introduced him to new experiences in his life. She defied all of his preferences and rules and that really captivated him. All it took was one taste of Jasmine and his nose was wide open in love with her and she was falling for him against her better judgement. They were hooked on each other but neither one was the sharing kind. And Jasmine definitely was not going to share Chase or be a part of a harem. She tried her best to stay away but Chase found a way to hook her back in.Who I really felt sorry for was Vivian and Troy. This is why there should never be secrets in a family. I did not feel sorry for Chase's harem, they made their choice and Dawn is kind of OCD crazy controlling. I don't understand why she is Chase's fiancee. There seems to be no love at all between them.Kenya wrote a very original and Imaginative story full of mystery. It kept my attention from beginning to end. The end left me hanging with the cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers!!!!

Normally any book involving polyamory will send me running in the opposite direction. I'm not even sure why I purchased this one since it's mentioned in the summary. (My one click finger is getting out of control). I was mostly pleasantly surprised by this book, however. The author managed to use the polyamory as a source of conflict without making it central to the relationship between Jasmine and Chase so I was able to get over it.Let me say this, I'm Black and I read a lot of erotic romance. If you look at my profile page, you will find that I've only ever reviewed one other book from this genre involving an interracial couple. That is not by accident. Unfortunately, I've found it difficult to get past the sample pages of many of the interracial erotic romance books because they were poorly written, more vulgar than sexy or erotic and cliche. I don't know whether there is an explanation for that but it's been my experience. Numerically, there may be a greater number of horrible novels written about non-interracial couples but the proportion of the horrible ones in the interracial genre seems to be much greater. I'm saying all this to say that if you are going to grade a book on a curve, this one really deserves 6 stars considering the books that are similarly thematic.Jasmine did some things which I found to be stupid and annoying but there are like three heroines that don't do that stuff so I didn't let it effect my rating. For example, the interview process that Jasmine endured was ridiculous and I know of no intelligent women who would have allowed themselves to be subjected to anything so outrageous (BEFORE they even knew what the salary was. Now maybe if you told us about the salary before asking about our sexual history we would be in business but not before, c'mon). Overall, I liked Jasmine. She made choices I wouldn't have made but I'm not a character in an erotic romance novel (sadly). Jasmine had intelligence, fire and a general unwillingness to play by the rules. So basically, my kind of girl.I have more ambivalence about Chase's character. As a general rule I have stopped reading books that don't include dual perspectives for the male and female lead characters. I just find that I enjoy the experience much more when I know what both main characters are thinking. I'm just not sure about Chase. On the one hand he is the typical aggressive, controlling possessive alpha billionaire that i love. On the the other hand, he seems to be completely run by women. That's not something I like in my male H's. The whole thing where a woman is dictating your schedule and your relationship jusssst doesn't do anything for me so I can't say that I loved that. Chase was more of a 3 star rating for me.Other stuff: I liked how the plot progressed and kept you interested. I liked the sub-conflicts with Gabe, Jasmine's family, Troy and Vivian. I liked the hint of mystery and intrigue. Although I generally resent serials, I don't feel like I was short changed by this book. I feel like I got a complete story despite the 'who done it' sort of ending.What I didn't love were the sex scenes. Anytime an author refers to a "throbbing bud' my eyes roll so deep in my head I have a difficult time reengaging them on the book. The descriptions were ok but I didn't find them all that sexy and quantitatively there were not very many scenes for this particular genre. I also didn't love Chase's lack of familiarity with food. Most people with money have enough experience with fine dining to know what foie gras is. Not only did Chase not know what it was, he had never tasted it. But Jasmine from "the hood" both knew of the delicacy and already loved it. I know this is nit picky, but it just seemed really unrealistic that Chase had such a limited pallet. I also just didn't like the presence of Chase's other women. I know I said that at the beginning but I'm saying it again. I just don't like that ish.I plan to purchase the next book in this series and to see what else Kenya has going on.IF YOU KNOW OF ANY GOOD BOOKS FROM THIS GENRE, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LEAVE SUGGESTIONS IN THE COMMENTS.

Chase is a stalkerific hero who surprised me throughout this book when his machinations reveal themselves.3. I found it very realistic that a beautiful, young billionaire would think nothing of setting up polyamorous playground. It also made sense that his pimp hand would be strong enough to expect nothing less than all to magically fall in line.4. I loved that the heroine asked all the believable questions of anyone introduced to this concept for the first time. Their connection came across authentic enough that the reader could understand her choices too.5. The supporting cast all added to the story, and didn't feel like sequel bait, or cartoony.6. Black hair realness was in effect. My favorite part is where the heroine's reactions at the requested hair makeover.7. This is an interracial romance that acknowledges differences but doesn't beat you over the head with it.7. Iâ€™m a fan of the movie Boomerang, and this had some of the same pacing and subject matter. The heroine is kind of a mashup of both the Halle Berry, and Robin Givens characters. You get the same satisfaction of watching the ultimate player's game meet its ultimate test.The Bad:1. Chase is the stalker billionaire hero trope on steroids, which sometimes came off creepy.2. Jasmine was often too quick to pick up her toys, and go home over the slightest push-back. Even after promising to talk before making rash decisions, it would happen again.Final ThoughtsThis was a fast paced soapy erotic read. It might be my first time reading this writer, but definitely not my last.

This book was well written with a clear explanation of the effect of geography on the political and economic positioning of countries of the world. I found this an interesting expose of the reasons for countries' dominance or lack of it. My only criticism Is that the maps didn't always show the towns or rivers that were being written about and reading it on a cell phone made it more difficult. I found it enlightening and would recommend it though it is not a light read

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is 10 chapters each covering a different part of the world. The USA, Russia, China, Western Europe, the Arctic, Africa, the Middle East, India/Pakistan, Korea, and Latin America. Obviously it doesn't go into great detail on any but it provides a great general overview of how geography influences political decisions in these 10 places.

Prisoners of Geography (2015) by Tim Marshall is a modern book on geopolitics that looks at why various regions around the world are the way they are and offers motives for why many states act as they do. Marshall is a journalist and writer and was at Sky News for a quarter of century and was the Foreign Affairs editor there for many years.Geopolitics underpins power politics and offers a great deal of insight into why states act as they do. Afred Thayer Mahan, Emil Reich and Halford Mackinder should be better known than they are. The US statesmen who understood and cared about geopolitics, Henry Kissinger and Zbigniew Brzezisnki, are better known for their crucial role in winning the Cold War. This book distils the insights of geopolitics.The book has chapters on Russia, China, the US, Western Europe, Africa, The Middle East, Indian and Pakistan, Korean and Japan, Latin America and The Arctic. The chapters on Russia, China and the Middle East are all outstanding, providing a great deal of insight into why these powers act as they do. In particular Marshall's presentation of why Russia is acting the way it is in Ukraine is something that is very much worth reading.The one big thing the book curiously mentions little is nuclear weapons which have fundamentally reshaped power politics. It was one thing for Napoleon or Hitler to invade Russia, it is a completely different thing to contemplate attacking a Russia with nuclear weapons. Similarly China has a level of security that previous rising powers did not have due to its nuclear capability.If the book does sound interesting Marshall gave a talk at the LSE recently that is available online to listen to that goes over the themes of the book.The book is very much worth reading for anyone interested in current events. It really does help understand various political events around the world.

As someone who has always loved learning about the world and the different countries and cultures all around it, I found this book to be incredible. It was quick moving yet thorough and hit on so many things that I, even as someone who studied Geography a little, had never even thought about. I would recommend this book to anyone to better understand the world and politics and how they are shaped by the physical realities all around us! Amazing read.

Tim Marshall explains in an eminently readable fashion the reasoning behind much of the politics that are shaping politics on the current world stage. The maps presented along with the elaboration on how the geographical boundaries were formed and hoe they affect the socio-political milieu of our age was most revealing. I am not generally much interested in politics, but the way this book was written an the maps expanded upon made it an unsustainable read.

It's an interesting book, even the person out of politics will understand.It's a soft cover, not a hard one as I thought.Paper is nice.
