I have been a follower of Dave Ramsey for over 10 years. Dave helped us get out of debt and build a plan. He helped us avoid risky investments, so we are often skeptical to go against Dave’s advice. We are seeing that we have not achieved the gains we had hoped for through our 401k’s and our eyes were opened even more understanding what our yearly retirement income would look like if we continue in the same path. Curtis helped me see other options are available and that the industry (from what I’ve experienced as well) often sells the products that benefit them, not that mostly benefit the customer. Thank you Curtis for sharing what you have learned and challenging the status quo of the industry. If you are skeptical, as I was, keep an open mind and be willing to accept new ideas. Lastly, don’t keep all of your eggs in one basket. I signed up for my MPI plan in July 2018 to go along with my already established 401k.
Eye-Opening! It's tough to find out that everything you thought you knew about your secure financial retirement plan will not produce the income you believed would allow you to retire with the same lifestyle. My father is a retired certified financial planner. He has taught me the importance of putting money away in my Roth IRA and began my investment the day I turned 16 years old. Today I am 34 years old and have a sizable amount in my Roth thanks to the compounding interest over time. THIS book answers questions that have never been truthfully addressed by life insurance and investment salespeople from the last 30 years of asking! I only wish the book had been written when I was in my 30's, I'd be much better prepared with my retirement savings.
